Genesis integrates with Dedicated Micros

Luminite has integrated Dedicated Micros’ (DM) network communications protocol into its “smart” IP Masthead Transceiver. Luminite’s Genesis wireless PIR systems can now be monitored and managed remotely, using Dedicated Micros recording and control equipment.

Graham Creek, Managing Director of Luminite explains, ”Dedicated Micros recording and control systems, including the IP Infiniti, Oracle and SD Advanced product ranges, can now communicate by network to the Genesis IP Masthead – a transceiver which coordinates and manages data from up to 64 Genesis wireless PIR detectors. Critical alarms and tampers, such as intrusion detection, anti-shock and anti-cloaking and management alerts, like low PIR battery strength and weak wireless signal, can all be accessed. DM users benefit from a far higher level of PIR system intelligence. A site response or key holder alert for critical alarms can be initiated and a routine maintenance visit for low battery or weak wireless signal strength warnings can be instigated. PIR system intelligence of this type significantly increases the effectiveness and efficiency of CCTV systems, whilst reducing the likelihood of false alarms.”

DM users can map PIR detectors to video channels and an electronic “health-check” verifies the correct operation of all the PIRs within the Genesis system, every few seconds.

The Luminite protocol is open, allowing for third party integration using a software development kit. However, DVR and NVR manufacturers wishing to integrate with the Genesis IP Masthead and enable this level of system functionality should contact Luminite.
